Key Job Details – Georgia Nursing Jobs

Location: Americus, GA 31719 (Southwest Georgia)

Healthcare Setting: Acute Care – Medical Surgical Unit (36 beds)

Assignment Duration: 17 weeks (Start: 11/17/2025 – End: 3/16/2026)

Nursing Shift: 12-hour day shifts

Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed

Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Holiday Requirement: Yes

Scrub Color: White tops, hunter green pants

Charting System: MEDITECH 6.1

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active RN license in Georgia or compact state (required for Georgia nursing jobs)

Minimum 1 year of recent experience in hospital Medical Surgical (Med/Surg) units

BLS certification required; ACLS preferred

Ability to float to other units as needed

Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility (strict radius rule for travel nursing jobs)

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, ESRD, pneumonia, renal failure, sickle cell crisis, orthopedic and bariatric surgery, AMS, and sepsis

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including hospitalists, nurse aides, and respiratory therapists

Maintain accurate clinical documentation using MEDITECH

Participate in floor-specific orientation (3 shifts)

Adhere to unit ratios: RN/LPN (6:1), CNA (12:1)

Deliver compassionate patient care while managing assignments efficiently

Work every other weekend and holidays as scheduled
