Med/Surg RN Job Details

Location: Albany, GA 31701 (Georgia nursing jobs)

Healthcare Setting: Acute Care – Medical Surgical Unit (44 beds)

Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN)

Start Date: November 17, 2025

End Date: March 16, 2026

Contract Duration: 17 weeks

Shift: 12-hour days (6:45am – 7:15pm)

Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week

Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Holiday Requirement: As needed

Scrub Color: Caribbean Blue

Estimated Weekly Pay: $1680 - $1800

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent Medical Surgical RN experience

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia or compact state

BLS certification (AHA required)

NIHSS certification (AHA required)

Experience with Meditech EMR preferred

Ability to float to all acute care and cardio units as needed

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality patient care in a busy Medical Surgical unit

Manage patient ratios of 1:5, occasionally 1:6

Collaborate with certified nursing assistants (CNA ratios 1:8 to 1:10) and interdisciplinary healthcare teams

Document patient care using Meditech EMR

Participate in general and unit-specific orientation, including EMR training

Float to acute care, cardio, and EC units for patient holds as needed

Comply with hospital policies, including a 75-mile radius rule for travel nurses
