Med/Surg RN Job Details

Location: Albany, GA 31701 (Georgia nursing jobs)

Healthcare Setting: Acute Care – Medical/Surgical Unit

Assignment Duration: 17 weeks (Start: 11/17/2025 – End: 3/16/2026)

Shift: 12-hour night shifts, Monday to Friday (unit closes Friday at 7 PM; no weekends required)

Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1680-$1800

Charting System: MEDITECH 6.1

Orientation: 3 shifts of unit-specific orientation

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia or compact state

Minimum 1 year of recent experience in an Acute Care Med/Surg nursing job

Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS

Proficient in basic Med/Surg skills; cardiac experience preferred

Must comply with strict 75-mile radius rule

Ability to float to other Medical/Surgical units as needed

Dress code: Caribbean Blue top & bottom OR White top & Caribbean Blue bottom OR all white

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality care for admission hold, overflow, and discharge pending patients

Administer IV and PO medications as ordered, monitor blood sugars, and assist with complex toileting needs

Provide oxygen therapy via nasal cannula and ensure nourishment per diet orders

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs

Maintain accurate clinical documentation in MEDITECH

Ensure safe patient transport and effective discharge planning

Float to other Med/Surg units based on census and patient needs
