POSITION SUMMARY:
The purpose of the Student Worker is to maintain and help organize the library, to assist customers with researching and checking out materials, and to assist supervisor(s) with various tasks as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist customers in locating and checking materials out
Maintain and organize the library by keeping trash picked up, chairs pushed in, printers stocked with paper, all sections kept in alphanumeric order, etc.
Answer and transfer phone calls
Assist customers online, over the phone, or in person with research techniques
Check-in and reshelve books, magazines, etc.
Help maintain reserve materials
Collecting library fees and fines
Bind projects as requested
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
A current Mid-America Christian University student for the current semester applying
Must be detail-oriented, a team player, able to interact with customers, able to follow verbal and written directions, and take initiative
Great customer service skills
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Must be a current MACU student.
COMPUTER SKILLS: Microsoft Office proficient
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Able to lift or move materials weighing up to 30 pounds; Have flexibility, such as squatting or reaching up high, to reach materials located on a bottom or top shelf; Able to sit in one location for lengthy periods of time.

Student Workers may be required to work any hours the library is open, including nights and weekends.
