Hospice Clinical Onboarding Nurse Educator
Location: MV Service Areas - Initially Surry and Forsyth Counties
Schedule: Full-time, 4-10/hr. days
7:30 am - 6:00 pm or 8:00 am - 6:30 pm
Ability to flex schedule occasionally for education events
Mountain Valley Hospice & Palliative Care is seeking a Clinical Onboarding Nurse Educator to mentor and support newly hired nurses and CNAs. This role ensures new staff are confident, competent, and connected during their first year, helping improve retention and patient outcomes.Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 mentoring for new RNs during their first 8 weeks.
Lead monthly check-ins and group trainings for new RNs and CNAs.
Support clinical leaders with education and skills refreshers.
Assess competencies, track outcomes, and recommend improvements.
Participate in community education events.Qualifications
Current RN license in NC (multistate preferred).
BSN required; CHPN preferred.
3–5 years nursing experience (hospice or home health strongly preferred).
Experience in education, precepting, or staff development a plus.Benefits
