Long Term Substitute English Teacher

Maranatha Christian Academy (MCA) is a private school serving Grades Pre-kindergarten through 12 in Brooklyn Park, MN. Our vision is for every Maranatha student to be highly educated, Christ-centered, and biblically anchored world changers. MCA has an opening for a long-term high school English substitute teacher starting in mid-February.

Essential Duties

Prepares course objectives and lesson plans, following curriculum guidelines and any requirements or standards of the state and school

Lectures, demonstrates and uses audiovisual technology teaching aids to present subject matter to class

Assigns lessons, homework, corrects papers, and hears oral presentations

Prepares, administers, and corrects tests, and records results

Maintains order inside the classroom and other spaces on campus, as well as off-site school-sponsored activities

Counsels students when academic and/or behavioral problems arise

Communicate students' academic progress and behavior with parents

Keeps attendance and grade records as required by MCA

Completes non-standard information requests for ISP Students (upper school only)

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university

Desired License: Minnesota teaching license
