180 Engineering is hiring a Quality Engineer for a direct hire opportunity that is 100% on-site in Sussex, WI.

In this role, you’ll design and lead a quality management system that supports operational excellence, supplier performance, and customer satisfaction.
You’ll work closely with operations and cross-functional teams to ensure that quality standards are consistently met, internal and supplier processes are aligned, and the organization maintains critical certifications such as UL and CSA. This position also plays a key role in shaping a culture of continuous improvement through data-driven decision-making, disciplined problem-solving, and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and lead a quality management system that supports internal operations and supplier partnerships in alignment with corporate policies.
Collaborate with operational leadership to ensure quality performance meets business objectives.
Work cross-functionally to maintain effective quality processes across all departments.
Oversee supplier quality management, including audits, inspections, and performance tracking.
Serve as the primary contact for third-party audits and certifications (UL, CSA, Intertek, etc.), ensuring timely resolution of findings.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement by leading root cause analysis and corrective action efforts.
Establish and maintain Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) processes and documentation
Analyze data and KPIs to identify trends and recommend proactive quality improvements.
Support management in achieving measurable business and compliance goals.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, Electronics, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
Experience conducting or leading internal and supplier quality audits.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements and certifications such as UL and CSA.
Strong analytical skills with experience in KPI-driven environments.
Proven ability to collaborate and communicate effectively across all levels of an organization.
Track record of leading or facilitating structured problem-solving in team settings.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in electronics manufacturing.
Background with APQP-style management systems.
Experience managing EH&S processes and compliance programs.
Exposure to Lean manufacturing principles.
Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher).
