Job Title: Fleet Mechanic

Job Description

As a Fleet Mechanic, you will perform mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on company fleet vehicles. You will ensure compliance with DOT and OSHA regulations, focusing on medium and heavy-duty diesel tractor and trailer maintenance and repair.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and complete repairs on all types of vehicles.

Perform preventative maintenance within the fleet department.

Respond to service calls as required.

Create work orders in SAP and ensure working times and tasks are logged into the computer as well as stock parts pulled from inventory.

Maintain tools and clean up the work area before the end of the shift.

Participate in and adhere to required safety training.

Support departments by communicating out-of-service vehicles and downtimes.Essential Skills

Experience in diesel fleet maintenance, preventive maintenance, diesel engine repair, and troubleshooting.

Ability to diagnose and repair airbrake systems and diesel engines.

Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.Additional Skills & Qualifications

Knowledge of airbrake and electrical systems and components preferred.

Valid CDL Class A Driver's License preferred.

Experience using a pallet jack or forklift preferred.

Ability to obtain PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) certification upon hire.

May be required to supply automotive hand tools.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

Work in a diesel truck shop environment that's attached to a warehouse. The position is available on the second shift from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with two technicians on each shift.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Lenexa, Kansas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60320.00 - $70720.00/yr.
