Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Program Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of educational, workforce, and innovation-based programs at the ICAN Innovation Center. This role requires exceptional leadership and communication skills to effectively manage teams, facilitate meetings, and ensure successful project implementation. The Program Manager will drive program development, manage project portfolios, and ensure quality management throughout the project lifecycle while aligning all programming with our nonprofit's mission to empower youth and adults through STEM learning, technology exposure, and creative innovation.
Duties
Program Development & Management
Design, implement, and evaluate educational and innovation programs, workshops, and events
Develop partnerships with schools, colleges, workforce agencies, and community organizations
Manage program budgets, grants, and donor reporting requirements
Monitor program participation and outcomes; prepare reports for leadership and funders
Team Leadership & Supervision
Supervise and train Assistant Manager and staff to ensure program excellence
Supervise project teams, providing guidance in team management, conflict management, and meeting facilitation
Oversee volunteer engagement and partnerships with local colleges and faith-based groups
Project Management & Coordination
Conduct requirements gathering and analysis to define project scope and objectives
Utilize project management tools (Confluence, Notion, Microsoft Project) for planning, scheduling, and tracking progress
Implement change management strategies to ensure smooth transitions during project execution
Facilitate communication among stakeholders to promote transparency in project coordination
Financial & Compliance Oversight
Oversee budgeting, cost control, and earned value management to ensure projects remain within financial constraints
Manage vendor relationships and contracts to ensure alignment with organizational goals
Ensure compliance with nonprofit, safety, and child protection standards
Utilize data analysis skills for effective decision-making and reporting on project performance metrics
Qualifications
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Education, STEM, or related discipline
3–5 years of experience managing educational or youth development programs
Proven experience in program management with a strong understanding of the project management lifecycle
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
Preferred:
Experience working in nonprofit or faith-based environments
Familiarity with project management software tools such as Primavera P6, Basecamp, Smartsheet, ServiceNow, or similar platforms
Knowledge of business process modeling, process mapping, and technical writing
Background in product development or product lifecycle management
