Saw Operator – Spartanburg, SC

Job Summary:

The Saw Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining saw equipment to cut raw materials (metal, wood, or other specified materials) to required specifications. This role ensures accuracy, efficiency, and safety while supporting overall production goals.

Hours: 7am-3:30pm (M-F)

Pay: $17/$21 (Depends on Experience)

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate band saws, circular saws, or other cutting equipment to process materials.

• Review work orders, blueprints, or cut lists to determine cutting requirements.

• Measure, mark, and inspect materials to ensure accuracy and quality standards.

• Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and blade changes on saw equipment.

• Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot minor issues.

• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area in compliance with company and OSHA standards.

• Record production data, material usage, and job completion information.

• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily production targets.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).

• Previous experience in machine operation, metal cutting, or manufacturing (preferred).

• Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, micrometers).

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

• Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

• Knowledge of safety practices in a manufacturing environment.

Work Environment:

• Fast-paced manufacturing/production setting.

• Exposure to noise, dust, and machinery (PPE provided).

• Regular standing, bending, and lifting required.
