Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an MRI Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, ARRT (M) and BLS certification for a 13-week acute care assignment. Responsibilities
Work in an acute care MRI unit equipped with one Siemens Aera scanner
Department has 2 MRI technologists and a tech aide who assists with scheduling and screenings
Perform neuro, chest, abdomen, pelvis, extremities, breast imaging, and breast biopsies with sterile tray setup
Average of 65 scans per day across a 24-hour period
Must be willing to work 12-hour day shifts on a 2-3-2 schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with every other weekend rotation
May be required to work overnight as the only technologist in-house
No floating to other departments is required
Uses EMR: Community Works and PACS: Intellirad/Intelliconnect
Responsibilities include a wide range of imaging procedures including neuro, chest, abdomen, pelvis, extremities, and specialized breast biopsies
Biopsy training is available if needed
Five shifts of department-specific orientation with a preceptor are provided
Work with support from an imaging director and manager; radiologist available on-site until 5pm, with on-call coverage after hours
Scrubs may be any color if clean and professional; option to match permanent staff with emerald green scrubs
Weekend and holiday work is required, including participation in a holiday call rotation
First-time travelers are accepted
Previous WVU Medicine travelers must have taken a 2-year break before re-applying, and maximum travel duration at WVU is one year before a required 2-year break
Local travelers are not accepted and a 50-mile radius rule applies Requirements
Minimum 1 year of MRI technologist experience required
Current ARRT (M) and BLS certification required
WV MRI License (can be obtained during compliance process); license required if applicable
Experience working in a fast-paced environment and the ability to multitask
Proficiency in starting IVs is required
Must complete WV CARES background screening prior to start Benefits
