Position Title: Registered Nurse - Antepartum

Location: 410 W 10th Ave, Columbus, OH 43210

Facility: Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center

Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Night Shift - 3x12 Hours (19:00 - 07:30) Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend (4 weekend shifts per contract)

Holiday Rotation: As needed (per facility holiday schedule)

Job Summary: The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Antepartum Unit provides high-quality, evidence-based care to antepartum and postpartum patients with complex or high-risk conditions. The RN will be responsible for patient assessment, monitoring, and care coordination in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment at a leading academic medical center.

Job Requirements

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent Antepartum or related experience

Epic Experience: Required

Travel Experience: Not required

Charge Experience: Preferred

Ratios: 1:3

Certifications (Required):

ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

BLS (Basic Life Support)

NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Fetal Monitoring

Certifications (Preferred):

Maintain central lines (CVC/PICC)

Adult cardiac arrest

Rapid Response/Code Teams

Sterile vaginal exam

Education: Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program

Licensure: Active Compact or Ohio RN License (must be in hand at submission)

Skills & Competencies

IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central line maintenance

Administration of blood and blood products

Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation (proficiency required)

Labor and delivery assistance, high-risk delivery support

Postpartum care including magnesium therapy and telemetry monitoring

Neonatal care including APGAR scoring and thermoregulation

Antepartum monitoring (NSTs, EFM)

Medication administration including Pitocin, Terbutaline, Magnesium Sulfate

Strong communication, critical thinking, and patient advocacy skills

Patient Age Groups: Infants, Adults

Support Services: IV Teams, Respiratory Therapy, Physical Therapy, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, Rapid Response, Interpretation Services

Common Diagnoses:

High-risk antepartum conditions

Postpartum with telemetry or continuous pulse ox

Postpartum magnesium patients

Postpartum IUFD
