Clinicial Reviewer (RN)

Job Description

In the Clinical Reviewer (RN) role, you will work under the direction of the supervisor of the team performing clinical reviews and abstractions of assigned cases related to a maternal death or to an adverse event that occurred during an outpatient surgical procedure.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong analytical and communication (both written and verbal) skills.

The ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.

The ability to prioritize reviews and projects to be completed.

Proficient in the use of standard office technology and basic Microsoft applications including Word and Excel.

Ability to gather and analyze information from records, reports, and other sources.

Knowledgeable of current disease/care management/coordination trends, prefered.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Current licensure as a registered professional nurse in New York State, required.

Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or graduate of an approved Registered Professional Nurses training program, required.

Four (4) years of clinical practice experience in a facility or community based setting including medical, surgical, and/or obstetrical experience, required.

Two (2) years of acute care hospital experience, required.

Experience in an acute or ambulatory care healthcare facility reviewing charts for the purpose of quality improvement or utilization review, preferred.

The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. The annualized salary range for this position is $75,000.00 – $90,000.00. Actual salary range and /or hourly rate depends on a variety of factors including experience, education, credentials, location, and budget.
