The Memory Care Program Director/Manager oversees the daily operations of the Memory Care Unit, ensuring residents with Alzheimer’s, dementia, and other memory-related conditions receive exceptional, person-centered care. This role involves leading a dedicated team, developing and implementing personalized programs, and fostering an environment that supports residents’ dignity, independence, and joy—all while ensuring compliance with regulations and best practices.Key Responsibilities

Program Development & Innovation

Design and implement innovative, inclusive memory care programs tailored to each resident’s cognitive, physical, and emotional needs.

Create meaningful, therapeutic activities that promote engagement, joy, and a sense of belonging—especially during festive seasons.

Leadership & Staff Development

Lead, train, and inspire a caring team of memory care professionals.

Provide ongoing education and mentorship to ensure high-quality, compassionate care.

Foster a supportive workplace culture that celebrates teamwork, respect, and inclusion.

Personalized Resident Care

Collaborate with residents’ families, healthcare providers, and interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans.

Monitor and adjust care as residents’ needs evolve, promoting well-being and comfort.

Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance

Ensure all care and operations meet state, federal, and organizational standards.

Stay informed on dementia care research and best practices to continuously enhance program quality.

Resident Safety & Environment

Maintain a safe, secure, and nurturing environment for residents and staff.

Respond effectively to emergencies or behavioral changes with empathy and professionalism.

Family & Community Engagement

Provide families with education, guidance, and emotional support.

Participate in community and seasonal events that bring residents, families, and staff together to celebrate connection and care.Qualifications

Education: LPN, Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, or Healthcare Administration preferred; RN license in good standing strongly preferred.

Experience:

2+ years of leadership experience in a long-term care or memory care setting.

Deep understanding of Alzheimer’s and dementia care best practices.

Skills:

Strong leadership and team-building abilities.

Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
