Job Overview

A heavy equipment operator works on construction sites and other projects, using specialized

machinery to move earth, clear land, and assist in building structures. The job demands a combination of

technical skill, physical stamina, and a strong commitment to safety and communication.

Responsibilities & Duties:

● Operate a variety of light and heavy machinery including, but not limited to dozers,

excavators, forklift, backhoe, and roller

● Execute routine maintenance inspections to ensure optimal equipment performance and

safety

● Safely & productively operate machinery while being able to adapt to changing

environment such as weather, traffic and altering soil changes

● Assist in building structures and other construction related tasks as needed on site

● Communicate with and provide aid to laborers when required

● Adhere to proper safety measures to minimize risks on the job site

Preferred Requirements:

● Sound mechanical knowledge to diagnose and resolve equipment issues

● General knowledge of all work associated with a civil contractor

● Capability to maintain pace in a construction environment while maintaining high safety

standards, includes the ability to stand, squat, bend, duck, crouch jump and walk for periods

of time. With the ability to lift up to 50lbs throughout the day as needed

● Physical endurance to perform manual labor tasks associated with construction work

● Comprehend lay and allotment of pipe work

● Proficiency with GPS, sight level, field laser level, and other surveying equipment

● Evaluate and comprehend blueprints, plans and layouts

Mandatory Requirements:

● Comply with federal, state and local regulations

● High school diploma or equivalent

● Communication & Team Collaboration skills

● Valid and Clean driver's license

● CDL mandatory, if non-current or lacking will aid in obtaining within 90 days of hireCompany Description
