Job Title: Clinical Research Nurse - Ames, IA
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Research Nurse to perform technical and clinical requirements of study protocols. This role involves a variety of clinical tasks such as venipuncture, specimen processing, vital signs monitoring, and more, all aimed at supporting clinical research trials.
Responsibilities
Perform technical and clinical procedures necessary for study protocols, including venipuncture, specimen processing, and injections.
Attend investigator meetings and site initiation visits for training on drug preparation and administration.
Monitor for possible complications with the administration of study drugs, focusing on injections or intravenous infusions.
Maintain accurate dispensing logs and document laboratory data and adverse reactions, notifying relevant parties of unexpected events.
Actively recruit and effectively communicate with potential patient participants for clinical trials.
Complete training on Clinical Trial Management System and maintain skills for database updates and participant reimbursements.
Communicate the status of patient referrals and overall recruitment to investigators and site manager.
Build relationships with monitors from sponsoring companies and promote the site for future trials.
Prepare study documentation for audits and assist auditors during the process.
Order clinical supplies and manage protocol-specific rescue drugs and assessment equipment.
Maintain and monitor temperatures for refrigerators, freezer units, and investigational product storage.
Act as OSHA Representative, maintaining employee immunization records and administering vaccines.
Perform equipment calibration and support training and development of clinical skills for site staff.
Travel to other sites within the network may be required to support workload increases or projects.Essential Skills
Registered Nurse with active RN license for the applicable state.
1+ years of prior Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC)/Clinical Research Nurse (CRN)/Research experience is ideal.
Experience in IV Insertion, vaccination, phlebotomy.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in chart review, patient recruitment, electronic data capture (EDC), and electronic medical records (EMR).
Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and pre-screening patients.
2+ years of nursing experience if no prior research experience.Work Environment
This position requires working 5 days on-site, Monday through Friday, for a total of 40 hours per week. The role offers the opportunity to support one of the largest site networks in the US, with potential for career advancement within the organization.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ames, IA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
