Position: Extended Support Needs Teacher

Location: Coalinga, CA 93210

Position Type: Full-time, In-Person

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 3 PM

Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Extended Support Needs Teacher to join our partner school's educational team. This position is ideal for an educator who is committed to providing specialized instruction and support to students with extended support needs in a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment. The class size will be limited to fewer than 10 students, ensuring personalized attention and effective learning.

Qualifications:

Must possess a California Special Education Credential - Moderate/Severe with English Learner (EL) Authorization.

Must have met subject matter competency in Multiple Subjects.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) that address the unique needs of students with extended support needs.

Create engaging and differentiated lesson plans that align with state standards and accommodate diverse learning styles.

Provide direct instruction and support in academic, social, and behavioral skills within a structured classroom setting.

Collaborate with classroom aides and support staff to ensure effective implementation of instructional strategies and classroom management techniques.

Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing feedback to students, parents, and other stakeholders regarding academic achievements and behavioral development.

Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth.

Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching practices and stay informed about best practices in special education.

Skills and Abilities

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues.

Ability to create a nurturing classroom atmosphere that promotes engagement and learning.

Knowledge of instructional strategies tailored for students with special needs, including the use of assistive technology as appropriate.

Proficiency in utilizing data-driven decision-making to inform instruction and improve student outcomes

Working Conditions

Full-time position with a class size of fewer than 10 students.

In-person instruction from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 3 PM.
