The Goddard School in Vernon Hills, IL is currently seeking a reliable, experienced, and nurturing Preschool Classroom Teacher to join our team of teachers. Classroom Teachers are responsible for ensuring compliance with Goddard's industry-leading Quality Assurance standards. Teachers write and implement their own lesson plans based on Developmental Guidelines and studies based on student interests. Most importantly, they create a positive learning environment in their classroom where children develop a lifelong love of learning! Our lead teachers are responsible for coordinating the daily operations of assigned classes. Teachers will plan, present, and evaluate educational and recreational activities for childcare in a safe environment. Teachers work directly with children and parents daily to provide quality customer service.

Establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment

Creating and implementing fun lesson plans geared towards educational success and based on developmental guidelines

Plan and implement appropriate classroom activities with other member(s) of teaching team. Plan individualized activities to meet the needs of children. Submit lesson plans for review in a timely manner. with an experienced team enabling you to showcase your strengths and creativity within a healthy and functional work environment

Establishing a home-school connection and positive family relations through interactive communication with parents

Provide a variety of developmentally appropriate activities to engage children in learning

Responsible for the overall classroom management, creating a safe, nurturing and engaging learning environment.

Encourage creativity through art, music, dramatic play and blocks.

Provide a reasonable balance between teacher-directed and child-directed activitiesPreferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development, Psychology or related field OR proof of current enrollment in a Bachelor's, Associate's or CDA Credentialing Program

1-2 years of previous experience preferred

Strong work ethic and communication skills

Positive attitude and inherent love for young children

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations. For Infant and Young Toddler Teachers, must be able to properly lift infants into and out of a crib
