Description
Summary and Objective
We are seeking a highly skilled and responsive A&P (Airframe & Powerplant) Technician to join our onsite AOG team in Kinston, NC. This position is focused on rapid troubleshooting, repair, and return-to-service of aircraft experiencing unscheduled maintenance or operational disruptions. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, possesses deep knowledge of aircraft systems, engines, and structures, and is willing to travel approximately 25% of the time to support AOG events. Strong troubleshooting capabilities are essential to quickly identify and resolve complex mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues.
Essential functions

Respond promptly to AOG (Aircraft on Ground) situations and provide on-site diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair of aircraft.
Perform inspections, repairs, replacements, and maintenance in accordance with FAA regulations, manufacturer guidelines, and company SOPs.
Apply strong troubleshooting skills to quickly diagnose and resolve complex aircraft system issues.
Document all maintenance actions accurately in maintenance logs, work orders, and electronic tracking systems.
Coordinate with flight crews, dispatch, and other maintenance personnel to prioritize AOG issues and minimize aircraft downtime.
Maintain hangar and workspace in a clean, organized, and safe condition following FOD prevention and Clean-As-You-Go principles.
Assist in parts inventory management, tool tracking, and ensuring all necessary materials are available for rapid response.
Participate in safety audits, incident reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Stay current on FAA regulations, service bulletins, and industry best practices.
Travel as required (approximately 25% of the time) to support offsite AOG events or customer aircraft locations.
Skills and Abilities:

Work environment
While performing the duties of this job, employees are frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibrations, and loud noise levels both inside and outside the hangar.
This is a hands-on, onsite position based in a hangar environment in Kinston, NC. The role requires rapid response to aircraft AOG situations, sometimes in high-pressure or adverse conditions. PPE and safety protocols must be strictly followed. Travel to customer locations requires approximately 25% of the time.

Qualifications
Required education and experience
High school diploma or equivalent required.
FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License required.
Minimum 8 years of hands-on AOG experience in aircraft maintenance.
Demonstrated strong troubleshooting capabilities across mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical aircraft systems.
Strong knowledge of jet and/or turboprop aircraft systems, avionics, and engines.
Excellent problem-solving skills under time-sensitive conditions.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in various hangar conditions.
Extensive knowledge of all aircraft mechanical systems functions and interactions. Thorough working knowledge of all current FAA regulations, IPM and ATA codes.
Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred education and experience
Corporate jet experience required: Cessna, Bombardier, Global, Gulfstream, Falcon, and Hawker airframes.
