NEOS Engineering are partnered with an established UK engineering group known for its expertise in electrical and mechanical systems — from design and manufacturing to maintenance and service.

They’re now looking for a Quality Engineer to join their busy operations workshop in the Rugby area, taking a lead role in inspection, process improvement, and quality assurance across a range of engineering projects.

You’ll be part of the growing workshop team, focusing on the quality side of manufacturing and repair operations. Expect to spend time both on the shop floor and at your desk — inspecting components, reviewing quality processes, supporting audits, and helping to embed continuous improvement at every stage of production.

You’ll work closely with engineers, project managers, and production teams to keep standards high and processes compliant with ISO 9001 and AS9102.

Key Responsibilities

Inspect and verify components against drawings and specifications (including reverse engineering when needed).

Develop, review, and manage Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and Quality Plans.

Lead and support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with company and customer standards.

Perform Gauge R&R and Measurement System Analysis (MSA).

Produce First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in line with AS9102.

Drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventative actions using tools such as 8D, A3, and 5 Whys.

Track and report on quality metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities.

Visit suppliers to audit machining, fabrication, plating, and related processes.

Support and promote a quality-focused culture across the business.

Requirements

A background in mechanical or electrical engineering.

Experience using mechanical measuring equipment and interpreting engineering drawings (GD&T).

Strong inspection and reporting skills.

Good understanding of ISO 9001:2015, AS9102, APQP, and FMEA.

Skilled in root cause analysis and continuous improvement methods.

Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.

Experience with rotating machinery, Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing principles would be a real plus.

APQP & FMEA processes Essential.

Why Apply?

This is a hands-on, varied Quality Engineering role within a respected engineering organisation where you’ll have real influence over standards, processes, and continuous improvement. Ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with production teams and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves.

Please apply with an up-to-date CV and feel free to include a short cover letter explaining why this role is right for you.
