Job Title: Therapist - Mental Health and Counseling

Job type: Full-time

Salary: DOE

Reports to: Assistant Clinical Director

Position description:

The Mental Health and Counseling Therapist will play a crucial role in providing mental health counseling and support to children, adolescents and adults facing various challenges. This position involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and implementing evidence-based therapeutic interventions to empower clients on their journey toward healing and recovery. We are looking for Outpatient Mental health providers with licenses such as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Psychologists to join the AACWI team.

Responsibilities:

Clinical Assessment:

- Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments to understand clients' mental health concerns, strengths, and goals.

- Utilize standardized assessment tools and diagnostic criteria to inform treatment planning.

Individual, Group and Family Therapy:

- Provide evidence-based individual, group and family therapy sessions tailored to meet the unique needs of clients ranging in age from birth to death.

- Implement therapeutic modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, or other evidence-based approaches.

Treatment Planning:

- Collaborate with clients to develop personalized treatment plans that address their therapeutic goals.

- Regularly review and adjust treatment plans based on ongoing assessment and client progress.

Crisis Intervention:

- Provide crisis intervention services as needed, conducting risk assessments and safety planning.

- Coordinate with the crisis intervention team and other professionals to ensure immediate and appropriate care.

Family and Systems Integration:

- Engage with families and support systems to enhance the overall therapeutic process.

- Conduct family therapy sessions and collaborate with external systems (schools, workplaces) as needed.

Documentation and Reporting:

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation, adhering to regulatory standards and organizational policies.

- Prepare comprehensive reports on client progress, treatment outcomes, and other relevant metrics.

Collaboration with Multidisciplinary Team:

- Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, social workers, nurses, and other professionals to ensure integrated and holistic care.

- Participate actively in team meetings, case conferences, and training sessions.

Community Outreach and Education:

- Engage in community outreach activities to raise awareness about mental health and available services.

- Conduct educational workshops and seminars on mental health topics.

Professional Development:

- Stay informed about advancements in therapeutic approaches, mental health research, and relevant regulations.

- Pursue ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.

Clinical Supervision:

Attend team meetings and actively and positively participate.

Complete charts and notes within 24 hours of client meeting.

Meet productivity and charting standards.

Qualifications:

- Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited college or university AND: At least 2,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to persons with mental illness.

Preference will be given to applicants who are familiar with and have experience in working with African-Americans or other clients of African descent. Fluency in the non-English language group of the ethnic groups AACWI serves is also desired.

- Licensure as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Marriage and Family - Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW).

- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in clinical therapy.

- Proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic interventions.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
