This pivotal role will lead the Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) function across our Surface Mining operations throughout Australia. We're seeking a proactive and experienced leader who thrives in a dynamic environment, can manage competing priorities, and is passionate about driving continuous improvement and supporting operational teams.

About the Role

Provide the Surface Mining operational teams with expert support, as well as mentoring and guiding them in HSEQ goals and objectives.

Analyse data to deliver and implement improvement initiatives to enhance safety, health and wellness within the Surface Mining teams.

Support the tendering process with HSEQ input and requirements.

Manage and maintain the local Health and Safety Management System.

Assist in Emergency Management support to operational teams.

Lead HSEQ audits for compliance and manage local ISO certifications.

Facilitate incident investigations and ensure timely reporting and corrective actions.

Lead risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies including the management of the local critical risk management program.

Liaise with clients to build collaborative working relationships and to foster confidence in Macmahons Integrated Management System.

Maintain knowledge of WHS legislation across the areas in Australia that Surface Mining Operate

About you

Degree in Health and Safety or a related discipline.

Approximately 10 years of experience in Work Health and Safety (WHS).

Demonstrated experience in leading teams and influencing stakeholders.

Strong knowledge of HSEQ systems, audits, and compliance requirements.

This role is based in Perth but requires regular travel to operational sites across Western Australia.
