Engineering – Machine Shop: Part-Time, Adjunct Instructor, Spring 2026
The Division of Physical and Computational Sciences is currently seeking applicants for a Part-Time, Adjunct Instructor of Engineering – Machine Shop, for Spring 2026.
Requirements: An associate degree or higher in manufacturing, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field, along with relevant industry certifications or teaching experience, is required.
Responsibilities: Applicants must be able to teach Machine Shop, a one-credit laboratory course required for engineering students. The course introduces students to safe and effective operation of common machine tools, including lathes, mills, drill presses, and CNC equipment. Successful applicants will provide hands-on training in machining processes, measurement techniques, material selection, and shop safety protocols. Candidates should have demonstrated experience in machining operations and machine shop safety, with proficiency in CNC programming and set-up preferred.
A strong commitment to teaching undergraduates and experience teaching at the university or collegiate level is preferred.
Candidates experienced working with college students from diverse backgrounds and applied experience in the field of expertise are encouraged to apply.
