Work Schedule May include work during the day, evening, or weekends.

Faculty teaching loads during academic year (August 16 to May 15) is as needed by the institutions and shall include such combinations of on- and off-campus, day, evening, distance learning, and weekend classes.

Fifteen-twenty (15-20) contact hours per semester are required for all full-time faculty.

AS well as ten (10) student contact hours per week.

Camp Community College is a small 2-year college in Southeast Virginia.

Campuses are located in Franklin and Suffolk.

There also is a center in Smithfield.

The college offers associate degrees, certificates, and career studies certificates in transfer and career/technical programs; credit and non-credit workforce services and training for businesses and industries; special interest classes for the community; and summer classes for youth through the Regional Workforce Development Center.

A dual enrollment program for high school students, online courses, and developmental studies classes are available at the college as well.

Camp is seeking a qualified individual to teach primarily Industrial Maintenance.

Full-time faculty responsibilities include teaching the equivalent of 15 - 20 credit hours per semester, which may include a mixture of day and night classes.

Teaching: Creating a learning environment that facilitates students' acquisition of knowledge and skills in a subject.

Teaching encompasses four components: Instructional Design, Instructional Delivery, Instructional Effectiveness, and Instructional Expertise.

Scholarly and Creative Engagement: Engage in scholarly and/or creative activity, which may include conference attendance and presentation, participation in professional organizations, academic coursework, scholarly research and publications, and grant activity.

Institutional Responsibility: Performing assigned or presumed duties according to one's role at the college.

These activities support and advance both the mission of the VCCS and the college to enhance the effective functioning of the college.

These responsibilities include: participate in the college's development and evaluation plan for part-time teaching faculty; participate in required department, committee, and college meetings; adhere to college and VCCS policies; perform assigned duties; and maintain a collegial working relationship with faculty, and staff.

Service: Quality participation and commitment to students, college and/or community organizations, which is an expectation of one's activities as a professional educator.

Activities in this domain are differentiated college representation, college citizenship, and community citizenship.

Special Assignments May be required to perform other duties as assigned.

May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

KSA's/Required Qualifications * Associated degree in related industrial technology field.

* Minimum of 5 years of related work experience in Welding, HVAC/AC, plumbing, Electrical, or Industrial Maintenance.

* Current License and/or certification in trade(s) relevant to teaching field.

* Ability to develop and adapt teaching and learning strategies to accommodate traditional and non-traditional students with diverse backgrounds and varied academic competencies.

* Ability to use formative and summative assessment measures to evaluate and enhance student learning.

* Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing for group or one-on-one settings.

* Ability to use/learn to use various technology applications including college email and the learning management systems.

Additional Considerations * Experience or skill in two or more trade areas or a bachelors degree in a related industrial technology field.

* Experience applying innovative technology applications to teaching and learning.

* Demonstrated commitment to enforcing shop safety protocols and maintaining a clean, OSHA-compliant lab environment.

* Experience in maintaining and troubleshooting industrial maintenance equipment and shop tools.

* Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a culturally and educationally diverse student population.

* An understanding of the community college environment and the mission.

* Knowledge of and experience in individualized instruction and hands-on application.

* Ability to work with industries in the service region.

* Program marketing experience.
