What You Will Do
Drive project management and resource allocation interactions.
Manage organization of Test and Process Engineers with approximately 10–15 direct reports and total organization of 50–80.
Manage and control budgets for entire organization according to latest released business cases including compensation, benefits, and expense.
Create and assist to manage capital planning/projects.
Design for Testability – ensure that future products are designed to allow for low cost test solutions to ensure the product is manufactured correctly and that flashing and testability are integrated into the design.
Define test development road map and test strategy for future audio and infotainment products including partnering with integrators to handle peak loads and ensure alignment with Harman’s vision.
Develop and maintain a highly capable technical team with excellent customer service skills by creating an environment that fosters innovations, teamwork and empowers the team to identify and implement new solutions with cost, footprint reductions and improved test coverage.
Drive for test standardization globally with all manufacturing regions.
Support RFQ activities and support the IPM, HW, SW teams and plant engineering groups to ensure successful new product launch.
Design for Manufacturability – ensure future product are designed to minimize the manufacturing cost and align with process capability and are taking into account lessons learned.
Define a process and technology roadmap for future audio and audio and connected car products including new technology and new processes.
Develop and maintain a highly capable technical team with excellent customer service skills that provide input to the pilot builds and throughout the product development lifecycle as well as support and train manufacturing and process teams.
Drive for standardization globally with all manufacturing regions on process equipment and materials used in the manufacturing process (solder, flux, coating, etc.) to ensure global standards.
Work with IPM, HW, and process engineering groups to ensure successful new product launch that hits project timing, budget (labor minutes, scrap, capital spend), and expected quality performance.
Lead Global Industrialization and manufacturing optimization projects.
Co-develop and Test new manufacturing and Test technologies in support of Industry 4.0 initiatives.
Own the ISC operation, delivering engineering samples and manufacturability and testability information to enhance product design during pre-PV PLM phases.
Responsibility for fulfillment and consideration regarding environmental and automotive quality system requirements and implementation ISO14001, IATF16949, ISO9001, IPC Norms, ESD requirements.
What You Need to Be Successful
Min. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
10+ years of automotive electronics manufacturing experience in high volume environment.
Strong technical leadership – ability to pull team together to resolve problems and overcome obstacles.
Thorough understanding of complex electronics infotainment and audio systems and data exchange associated with provisioning and maintaining traceability.
Extensive experience in managing technical teams and building bench strength.
Proven verbal/written communication and demonstrated human relationship skills.
Ability to develop technology roadmap and drive team to maintain the direction.
Ability to influence other organizations to support team and be compliant to manufacturing requirements.
Strong, hands-on experience in designing and implementing process and test methodologies and equipment.
Team player with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
Self-motivated and able to work independently without detailed direction while managing sometimes shifting priorities.
Ability to handle a variety of projects simultaneously.
Ability to effectively present information to and respond to questions from senior management, clients, customers and employees.
