Research Associate Intern

What You’ll Do:

We are looking for highly motivated penultimate-year (third-year) students for an 8 to 10-week internship program in our Hong Kong office. If you love research, Bernstein could be a great fit for you. Our interns learn about and contribute to the research we are known for: thematic, industrial strength, collaborative, data-driven, bottom up, and always differentiated. You will be assigned to a sector team (such as Asia Industrials, China Consumer, Japan Semiconductor, etc.) and work closely with a Senior Research Analyst and other Research Associates who will mentor and develop you. As a Research Associate Intern you will:

Learn in-depth analysis of your assigned sector, companies, and stocks by working with your team through a quarterly earnings cycle

Build expertise in your assigned sector and companies by working with a seasoned industry expert and other Associates

Complete a comprehensive project and deliver a presentation to senior management

Attend Bernstein Summer School learning and development programs

Interact with peers in research, sales, and trading through a variety of networking and social activities

What We’re Looking For:

Our Research Associate Interns are students who are expecting to obtain relevant degrees in 2027 (bachelor’s or master’s) and typically have track records of outstanding performance in a rigorous academic environment. We look for strong team players who seek an intellectual and collegial environment for their development. We take into consideration of your achievements and qualifications for evidence of the following:

Excellent broad-based analytical skills

Strong quantitative backgrounds and ability to work with data sets, including engineering, math and science degrees

Relentless intellectual curiosity and passionate about equity research

Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

Fluency in Mandarin other than English
