Radiologic Technologist Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology (IR) technologist experience required
Active Illinois IEMA license (required for Illinois healthcare jobs)
Active ARRT (CT) certification
Active BLS certification (AHA)
RCIS and CBT certifications highly preferred
Strong communication skills with physicians and clinical staff
Knowledge of aseptic technique and radiation safety protocols
Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Radiologic Technologist Responsibilities
Perform and assist with a variety of interventional radiology procedures, including thoracentesis, paracentesis, embolization (UFE), IVC filter placement, SVC repair, line placement (PICC and central lines), CT biopsies, fistulas, needle aspirations, and shock wave lithotripsy
Support vascular cases and provide clinical support as needed
Maintain procedural safety and adhere to aseptic techniques
Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout all radiology procedures
Demonstrate expertise in radiation safety and compliance with hospital protocols
