What You'll Do:

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Compliance Programs: As a member of the Executive Compliance Committee comprised of legal, fiscal, and human resources leadership, will develop comprehensive compliance programs that align with applicable regulations and Court policies. Partners with the legal and human resources to implement compliance programs in coordination with Offices across the Court.

Internal Controls and Policies: Work closely with legal, human resources and fiscal to advise on maintenance of internal controls and Court policies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Escalate issues to the Executive Compliance Committee for enforcement and resolution.

Regulatory Changes: Stays informed on regulatory changes and help ensure the Court’s compliance programs remain current and responsive to those changes, working with the Executive Compliance Committee to adjust strategies and protocols.

Training and Education: Designs and delivers compliance training programs to educate employees on relevant regulations, policies, and ethical conduct.

Investigating Compliance Violations: Conducts investigations into alleged compliance violations. Collaborates with legal, human resources, and fiscal to take corrective actions and determine whether violations should be reported to the appropriate authorities.

Reporting and Accountability: Prepares and presents compliance reports for the Executive Leadership Team.

Collaboration with other departments: Works closely with legal, human resources, fiscal, and other departments to enhance compliance program through the development of training materials, policies, procedures, and necessary guidelines.

Other Duties: Performs such other legal duties as assigned by the Executive Leadership Team.

STAFF SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

What we’re looking for…

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Requires a JD degree, admittance to the bar and in good standing. Juris Doctor from an accredited law school required. At all times during employment with the Court, must be an attorney properly admitted to the practice of law, be in active and in good standing. This is typically acquired through a minimum of seven years of legal experience directly related legal experience in the public or private sector. Previous compliance experience strongly preferred.

Relationship Building: Establish and maintain collaborative, effective working relationships with all stakeholders.

Sensitivite Interactions: Ability to handle sensitive, face-to-face contact with the public and government officials in a composed, hospitable, and approachable manner.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position operates in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment, including but not limited to computers and phones.

COURT EXPECTATIONS OF EMPLOYEE

Employees may be regularly exposed to sensitive information and the employee is expected to keep any such information strictly confidential.
