Mainframe Senior Consultant

Title: Mainframe Senior Consultant Location: Hartford, CT – / Omaha, NE - Day 1 Onsite, Hybrid Duration: Long Term Contract Interview: Virtual Work Authorization : US Citizen and Green Card Encourage to apply- W2 Responsibilities: Core CICS Management Direct experience installing, configuring, and managing CICS software, CICS application regions, and ISV software.

5+ years (Required) API/Connectors Installing, configuring, and managing zOS Connect regions for both inbound and outbound APIs.

Preferred 3+ years Ancillary Software: Installing, configuring, and managing any of the following: TPX software and started tasks, EOS software and started tasks, and CA GEN (desktop, runtimes, host encyclopedia, zOS components). Preferred 2+ years Region & Task Creation Ability to create new CICS regions, started tasks, and address spaces and to migrate new transaction definitions.

Working Knowledge Software Maintenance (SMPE): Working knowledge of the SMPE software installation process, including analyzing PTFs and HOLDDATA, and triaging HIPER, FIXCAT, and PEd PTFs.

Working Knowledge Currency & Migration Maintaining software currency and performing semiannual maintenance migration to development, QA, and production CICS regions.

Working Knowledge CICS Optimization Working knowledge of CICS parameters and internals to optimize functionality and performance as well as to resolve incidents.

Working Knowledge Vendor Support Ability to work with IBM and ISV providers to provide timely resolution to more complex issues.

Working Knowledge Domain Knowledge: Understanding of the Travelers business groups.
