Apex is looking for a Billing Analyst in Columbus, OH to start this November.
**Job Title:** Billing Analyst
**Location:** Columbus, OH
**Pay:** $21.65/hr
**Schedule:** On-site M-F
**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a detail-oriented Billing Analyst to manage billing operations, analysis, and customer service for large accounts. This role requires strong analytical skills, advanced Excel capabilities, and a proactive approach to resolving billing issues. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently and collaborating across departments to ensure accurate and timely billing.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Verify billing data accuracy and analyze individual accounts.
- Serve as the primary contact for large account billing internally and externally.
- Identify and resolve billing discrepancies and root causes.
- Create detailed manual invoices ensuring data integrity.
- Review and resolve unbilled cycles.
- Communicate with utilities to troubleshoot and verify data.
- Collaborate with IT to enhance system automation.
- Generate and analyze reports; draw actionable conclusions.
- Interpret EDI files and ensure SOX compliance.
- Participate in monthly close processes.
- Work closely with Pricing to align billing with market and utility changes.
- Maintain high levels of customer service and documentation.
**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree required (Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of billing, finance, or relevant business experience.
- Advanced Excel and/or Microsoft Access skills.
- Strong understanding of information systems and technical documentation.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Energy industry or energy billing experience is a plus.
