Registered Nurse Job Details
Location: Columbus, OH 43210 (Ohio nursing jobs)
Unit: Emergency Department Observation Unit (CC99437)
Position Type: Travel Nursing Contract
Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: December 1, 2025 – End: March 2, 2026)
Shift: Night Shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 – 07:30)
Hours per Week: 36
Estimated Weekly Pay: $1680 – $1720
Patient Ratio: 1:4
Unit Size: 32 beds
ER RN Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room or acute care nursing experience
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – compact or Ohio state RN license required
Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS
Experience with Epic electronic health record (EHR) system preferred
Experience in community hospital, LTAC, Trauma Level I/II settings preferred
Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions considered)
Ability to provide two professional references (one must be from a supervisor/manager or charge RN)
Emergency Room Nurse Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality patient care in the Emergency Department Observation Unit for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
Monitor and manage telemetry and dysrhythmia for diverse patient populations
Provide PCU/Stepdown level care, including IV insulin and heparin protocols
Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
Manage blood product administration, tracheostomy care, wound care, and wound vacs
Participate in rapid response teams and emergency interventions
Document patient care accurately using Epic EHR
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and more
Care for patients with renal failure, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and other complex medical conditions
