PCU Registered Nurse Job Details
Job Title: Travel PCU Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Columbus, Ohio 43210
Healthcare Facility: 8 East Rhodes Progressive Care Unit
Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: December 1, 2025 – End: March 2, 2026)
Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:30)
Weekly Hours: 36
Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,940 - $1,990
Patient Ratio: 1:3
Orientation: 36 hours
Rotating Holidays: Required
Float Requirement: Must float to units of equivalent or lower acuity within the healthcare organization
PCU RN Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing experience
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (compact RN license or Ohio RN license required at time of application)
Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
BCLS and ACLS certifications required
Proficient with EPIC electronic health record (EHR) system
Clinical skills: IV start, telemetry, central line care/management, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, dysrhythmia interpretation, IV insulin protocols, management of cardiac drips (no titration), management of dysrhythmias, insulin drip titration
Previous travel nurse experience preferred
Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
Two professional references required (one from a manager/director or formal leadership, one from a Charge RN)
PCU Nurse Responsibilities
Provide high-quality patient care to adults and geriatric patients with diverse diagnoses, including renal, hepatology, cardiology, pulmonology, and adult cystic fibrosis
Monitor and manage cardiac drips, heparin, insulin drips, and initiate pressors (transfer to ICU as needed)
Operate specialized healthcare equipment such as lift equipment, IV ultrasound machine, and bladder scanner
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and social services
Float to other nursing units within the hospital as required
Maintain accurate clinical documentation using EPIC EHR
Participate in rotating holiday coverage as part of the nursing team
