Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-acuity Oncology PCU position with night shift and strong infection prevention focus.
Responsibilities
Work in a high-acuity Oncology Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with medical and surgical oncology patients
36-bed Oncology Telemetry unit, with over 24 beds dedicated to PCU level of care
Patient population includes adult oncology with rare pediatric cases handled by permanent staff
Common diagnoses include solid tumor, orthopedic oncology, and thoracic oncology
Uses B450 GE telemetry system, Alaris pumps, bladder scanner, Stryker beds, and PCA pumps
Self-scheduling with requests considered prior to finalizing the schedule
First week of orientation is Monday to Friday on days, second week is 36 hours on-unit orientation with a preceptor
Night shift position, with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
Staffing ratios are 1:4–5 for Med Surg Telemetry and 1:3 for PCU patients
Floating required within units of equivalent or lower acuity
Responsibilities include managing progressive care oncology patients, implementing infection prevention protocols, and fall risk reduction

Weekend shifts are variable and subject to scheduling needs
Chemotherapy administration, wound care, and arterial line management preferred but not required
Team-based environment with support from experienced staff
Dress code and any facility-specific requirements will be provided during orientation
Requirements
Active OH or compact RN license required
Current certifications required: BCLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Minimum 2 years high-acuity PCU experience required
Oncology experience preferred but not required
Previous travel experience preferred
Strong skills in interpreting dysrhythmias, rapid response, central and peripheral line care, blood product administration, and various respiratory and cardiac interventions
Competent with GE telemetry systems and medication pumps
