Role Summary
As a Field Service Technician, you will be a critical link between FLS and our customers, providing specialized technical support on-site at mining operations. You will ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality service delivery, while contributing to continuous improvement and customer satisfaction. This is a hands-on role, ideal for professionals with strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and a customer-focused mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical guidance to internal and external customers during execution, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of FLSmidth and related equipment.
Deliver cost-effective, high-quality service on-site.
Develop expertise in an assigned product line.
Plan, coordinate, and execute specialized services, including:
Supplier services during project execution (installation, commissioning).
Spot services and client training.
Assist in service proposals, planning, and follow-up in collaboration with planning, logistics, and cost/budget teams.
Conduct root cause analysis and material failure investigations on supplied equipment.
Report work progress to clients ensuring adherence to quality standards.
Train internal and external personnel on equipment commissioning, operation, and maintenance.
Perform equipment analysis and diagnostics for FLSmidth-installed systems at mining sites.
Provide preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance support.
Dimension resources required for technical and economic proposals.
Support claims management and maintain accurate data in company tools.
Prepare detailed service reports and statistical analyses of historical service data.
Develop technical recommendations for rebuilds, upgrades, and potential new business opportunities.
Support technical sales opportunities during proposal stages.
Ensure efficient planning and use of resources for service delivery.
Maintain safety and quality standards in all customer interactions.
Coordinate safety reporting with the assigned HSE personnel.
Qualifications & Experience
Technical or engineering background in Mining, Mechanical, Electrical, or similar disciplines.
Hands-on experience with mining equipment and on-site technical service.
Proven experience in troubleshooting, maintenance, and commissioning of industrial or mining machinery.
Strong analytical skills for root cause analysis and performance evaluation.
Experience preparing technical reports and service documentation.
Fluency in Spanish; English proficiency is a plus.
