ROCKaBLOCK is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Part-Time Screen Printing Press Operator to join our creative production team in downtown Indianapolis. This role is perfect for someone who takes pride in their craft, thrives in a fast-paced, artistic environment, and enjoys working hands-on to bring bold apparel designs to life.

As a Screen Printing Press Operator, you’ll be responsible for running both manual and automatic ROQ presses, maintaining print quality standards, and assisting with day-to-day production tasks. You’ll help prepare screens, mix inks, set up and register jobs, and ensure every print meets our high standards of quality and consistency.

In addition to printing, you’ll help keep the shop organized, maintain equipment, and occasionally assist with simple graphic design or artwork prep for production.

Responsibilities

Operate both manual and automatic ROQ screen printing presses

Prepare screens (coating, exposing, and reclaiming)

Mix inks and maintain proper color matching and consistency

Register screens and ensure alignment accuracy on garments

Conduct test prints and monitor print quality throughout production runs

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the print shop

Assist with packaging, folding, and order fulfillment

Support minor graphic design and prepress tasks as needed

Troubleshoot minor press or printing issues to maintain production flow

Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines and production goals

Qualifications

1+ year of screen printing experience (manual or automatic press) preferred

Familiarity with ROQ presses and Printavo workflow a plus

Working knowledge of plastisol and/or water-based inks

Basic understanding of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a small team

Ability to lift up to 40 lbs (ink buckets, screens, boxes)

Willingness to learn and grow with a creative, fast-evolving company

Schedule & Compensation

Part-time (15–25 hours per week, flexible scheduling)
