Job Description
The Quality Engineer is responsible for acting as a liaison between customers and the plant, implementing and improving statistical methods, conducting quality cost analysis, developing specifications and procedures, following ISO requirements, leading 8D problem solving, and assisting with plant quality audits.
Responsibilities:
Serve as a liaison between Manufacturing and Quality regarding customer specifications, quality requirements, and problem resolution.
Review customer complaints, analyze returns, and recommend corrective actions.
Review and present statistical data in graphical formats; assist plants in implementing statistical methods and quality improvement programs.
Assist in conducting annual plant audits and systems surveys.
Continuously seek improvements in testing methods, tooling, and equipment through statistical sampling to ensure product quality.
Travel as necessary to customers and suppliers to address problem areas.
Experience:
5+ years' experience in manufacturing.
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
Working knowledge of manufacturing and quality processes and principles (ISO/IATF)
Experience in product and process failure analysis and familiarity with quality techniques such as SPC, TQM, etc.
Excellent verbal communication, presentation, training, and leadership skills.
Understanding of quality techniques such as Kaizen and design of experiments.
Salary Range: $70,000-$80,000
