On behalf of an iconic Vancouver-based developer, MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Construction Safety Officer (CSO) to join a high-profile, long-established company known for excellence in design, construction, and community building. As Construction Safety Officer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring site safety and operational efficiency on a landmark multi-family project in White Rock. Working closely with the Site Superintendent and Project Manager, you’ll lead safety compliance, training, and site inspections while contributing to a proactive, team-driven safety culture.
What You’ll Do
Support the on-site Construction and Health & Safety teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Monitor compliance of workers, contractors, and subcontractors with WorkSafeBC standards and internal safety policies.
Conduct orientations for new workers and visitors and lead regular toolbox meetings.
Prepare and maintain detailed safety documentation, reports, and corrective action plans.
Assist with safety planning, pre-job hazard assessments, and incident investigations.
Coordinate first aid and emergency response procedures, including drills and documentation.
Proactively identify hazards, communicate non-conformances, and recommend improvements.
What You Bring
3–5 years of experience in a Construction Safety Officer role (residential or commercial).
Valid CSO certification and Occupational First Aid Level 2 (OFA2).
Solid understanding of WorkSafeBC regulations and construction safety best practices.
Strong communication and documentation skills; able to influence and build trust on site.
Organized, dependable, and calm under pressure with strong problem-solving ability.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Physically capable of performing site duties (up to 50 lbs).
Assets
NCSO designation with OFA2 (transport endorsement)
Experience in multi-family or high-rise construction
DCS/DEC preferred
