HR Policy and Document Administrator
AWE is currently recruiting for a HR Policy and Document Administrator responsible for ensuring that all HR policies and associated documentation are managed and maintained.
Location: Green Park, Reading. We will be relocating from our onsite Aldermaston base in early 2026.
Working pattern: AWE operates a 9-day working fortnight. We will consider flexible working requests so that your work may fit in with your lifestyle. Just let us know your preferred working pattern on your application.
Salary: £24,230 - £26,000 dependent on skills and experience

As the HR Policy and Document Administrator, your role is to ensure that all HR policies are up-to-date, compliant with our Company requirements, and easily accessible to employees. The position also involves coordinating with HR and Quality Teams to ensure HR policies are maintained in line with Company requirements and to provide guidance to policy owners on how to do this.
The role involves collaborating across departments to ensure consistent policy maintenance and management, assisting with internal and external audits, and acting as a central point of contact for policy management-related queries. You will also:
Manage structured document control systems, support audits, and act as the central contact for policy management-related queries and access.
Partner with HR teams to ensure compliance is monitored and understood and provide guidance on internal governance.
Support regular reporting on compliance to relevant stakeholder groups
Who are we looking for?
We are ideally seeking someone with previous experience supporting the maintenance and governance of HR policies and procedures. This includes managing structured documentation, conducting regular audits, and supporting digitisation efforts.
We do need you to have the following:
CIPD or equivalent HR Qualification, or relevant experience.
Whilst not to be considered a tick list, we’d like you to have experience in some of the following:
Experience in HR policy management and document control.
Proficiency in HR software, document management systems, and Microsoft Office.
Understanding of HR policies, employment law, and GDPR.
High integrity and confidentiality.
Excellent organisational, time-management, and communication skills.
Proactive, solution-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
You’ll need to have the ability to work calmly and constructively in a priority changing environment and be able to manage your own workload. You will also have initiative, enthusiasm, a flexible approach, and ability to work to tight deadlines.
