Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking SAP BTP Solution Architect to lead the design, integration, and governance of SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) solutions across our enterprise landscape.

In this role, you will play a mission-critical part in OPG’s digital transformation journey, ensuring seamless integration, scalability, and innovation within our SAP ecosystem. Working closely with business stakeholders, IT leaders, and cross-functional teams, you will design and implement modern, cloud-native solutions that align with OPG’s Strategic Transformation Roadmap (STR).

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise & Technical Architecture

Lead the architecture, design, and governance of SAP BTP solutions aligned with enterprise, data, application, and technology domains.

Integrate SAP BTP services—such as SAP Integration Suite, Extension Suite, SAP Analytics Cloud, and SAP Data Warehouse Cloud—with S/4HANA, ECC, and third-party systems.

Develop secure, scalable, and resilient cloud-native architectures leveraging SAP BTP, SAP HANA Cloud, and multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Define and maintain enterprise data models, integration patterns, and data governance standards.

Utilize frameworks such as TOGAF, COBIT, and SAP Activate, along with tools like LeanIX and Signavio, to deliver architecture documentation and governance models.

Solution Innovation & Enablement

Drive adoption of emerging SAP BTP innovations, including low-code/no-code tools, workflow automation, AI/ML, and API management.

Translate business strategies into scalable, BTP-enabled technical solutions that accelerate digital transformation.

Lead solution design, prototyping, integration, testing, and deployment of BTP-based applications and extensions.

Provide expert guidance on cloud architecture, security, and compliance best practices.

Collaboration, Delivery & Leadership

Partner with project managers, product owners, and scrum teams to align architecture and delivery objectives.

Mentor developers, consultants, and analysts in BTP tools, frameworks, and best practices.

Support agile delivery through sprint planning, backlog refinement, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Promote cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful implementation and adoption of BTP solutions.

Continuous Learning & Thought Leadership

Stay current on SAP BTP advancements, AI/ML integration, cloud technologies, and industry best practices.

Contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives, thought leadership sessions, and SAP community engagement.

Identify opportunities to enhance business agility, streamline processes, and modernize enterprise solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum 8+ years of experience in SAP solution architecture, with at least 3 years focused on SAP BTP and cloud integration.

Proven expertise in designing and implementing SAP BTP solutions, including Integration Suite, Extension Suite, Analytics Cloud, and Data Warehouse Cloud.

Strong working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, ECC, and integration of SAP/non-SAP systems.

Hands-on experience with SAP Fiori/UI5, SAP HANA Cloud, CAP (Cloud Application Programming Model), API management, and Kubernetes-based containerization.

Solid understanding of TOGAF, COBIT, Agile/SAFe, and SAP Activate frameworks.

Familiarity with LeanIX, Signavio, or similar architecture and process modeling tools.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

SAP Certified Professional – Solution Architect – SAP BTP certification required.

Additional certifications (TOGAF, COBIT, SAFe Agilist) considered an asset.
