About the role
As a Senior Data Engineer, this individual contributes to architecture and design discussions, supports best practices in data quality, governance, and security, and helps strengthen overall data delivery processes. The Senior Data Engineer also mentors peers and drives continuous improvement in engineering standards and automation across the team.
What you’ll do
Create, maintain, and optimize robust data pipelines and associated data services to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance.
Partner with data, analytics, and design teams to define scalable data solutions and support evolving business requirements; contribute to data architecture discussions and design decisions to align with long-term enterprise data strategy.
Provide input into data modeling, integration design, and data lifecycle management to ensure alignment with best practices in data governance, metadata management, and security.
Collaborate across the organization to embed data quality, lineage, and stewardship principles into engineering and delivery processes.
Mentor peers, share best practices, and drive continuous improvement in data engineering standards, automation, and architecture awareness within the team.

What you’ll bring
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field - or equivalent experience and training.
5+ years of experience in technical data roles such as ETL development, data engineering, BI reporting, or related disciplines.
Strong SQL expertise with hands-on experience designing and optimizing complex queries, relational databases, and data models.
Proven experience building, scaling, and maintaining data pipelines, data lakes, and data integration frameworks.
Understanding of data architecture concepts (data modeling, integration patterns, schema design, storage optimization) and ability to collaborate with architects to translate strategy into implementation.
Proficiency with cloud technologies including AWS (S3, EC2, EMR, DynamoDB, Aurora, Athena, Glue, etc.) and platforms such as Snowflake and dbt.
(Preferred) Familiarity with data orchestration and integration tools (SSIS, SnapLogic, Kestra, Airflow, etc.) and streaming technologies (Kafka, Spark, Kinesis).
Experience with data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance technical detail and strategic context.
Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
Working knowledge of object-oriented and functional scripting languages (Python, Java, Scala, etc.).
Strong organizational and project management skills, with an ability to prioritize and align technical work to business strategy.
Strong administrative/technical skills; Comfort working on a PC using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), IM/video conferencing (Teams & Zoom), and telephones efficiently.
