Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and organized Warehouse Supervisor to oversee daily shipping and receiving operations. This role is responsible for managing a team, ensuring accurate and timely shipment of goods, maintaining inventory accuracy, and enforcing safety standards. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent attention to detail, and experience in warehouse logistics.
Key Responsibilities
Shipping & Receiving Operations
Oversee all inbound and outbound shipments to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and proper documentation.
Coordinate with carriers, drivers, and vendors to schedule pickups and deliveries.
Ensure all shipments are packaged, labeled, and documented according to company and regulatory standards.
Resolve discrepancies, damages, or delays quickly and effectively.Team Leadership & Supervision
Supervise and direct warehouse associates and forklift operators assigned to shipping and receiving.
Train team members on proper procedures, safety protocols, and equipment operation.
Monitor employee performance and provide coaching, feedback, and corrective actions when needed.Inventory Management
Maintain accurate inventory levels by monitoring stock counts, conducting cycle counts, and reconciling discrepancies.
Ensure proper organization of materials, products, and freight within the warehouse.
Work closely with inventory control and procurement teams to support business needs.Safety & Compliance
Enforce OSHA regulations, company safety standards, and equipment operation protocols.
Conduct routine safety meetings and ensure proper use of PPE.
Perform regular inspections of shipping/receiving areas to identify and address hazards.Reporting & Communication
Prepare and maintain daily shipping, receiving, and inventory reports.
Communicate with management, customer service, and logistics teams to ensure smooth workflow.
Act as the primary point of contact for escalated shipping or receiving issues.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 3+ years in warehouse or logistics operations, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
Skills:
Strong leadership and team-building abilities
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Knowledge of shipping regulations, carrier requirements, and freight handling procedures
Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer applications
Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to [50 lbs], stand or walk for long periods, and work in a fast-paced environment.
