Before and After School Childcare Staff - Cairo

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring staff for our Before and After School Program for the 2025-2026 school year.

JOB STATUS: Part-time, non-exempt

LOCATION: Cairo Durham Elementary School in Cairo, NY

POSITIONS AVAILABLE: Childcare Program Staff

PAY: $15.50 per hour

HOURS: 7:00 - 9:00 am and 3:10 - 6:00 pm

The Before and After-School Program team plays an essential role in:

Leading interactive, hands-on experiences that follow the Healthy Kids Curriculum, featuring activities in fitness, STEAM, academics, arts, and group play, along with providing homework guidance.

Creating a welcoming, safe, and engaging space where children can learn, explore, and grow, while serving as a positive and encouraging role model.

Arriving prepared and punctual for scheduled shifts, and remaining on-site until the final child has safely departed.

Maintaining open and consistent communication with parents and guardians through the Playground App.

Adhering to all state regulations, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program standards, and policies of the host school.

Depending on the position, responsibilities may also include administrative or supervisory tasks such as tracking attendance, assisting with enrollment, and supporting staff coordination.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be at least 18 years of age and hold a High School Diploma or equivalent.

One year or more of experience working with children under the age of 13 is preferred.

Must provide medical clearance showing no communicable diseases, including TB.

Energetic, kind, and enthusiastic individuals with strong interpersonal and communication skills; reliability, professionalism, and punctuality are essential.

Physically capable of staying active, bending, stretching, lifting, and carrying up to 50 lbs., while keeping pace with the children throughout the day.
