Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN Case Manager with a BSN and Epic experience for an 8-hour day shift position in a dynamic hospital setting.
Responsibilities
Work in a hospital environment with a Trauma Level III, teaching status, and specialty centers including Chest Pain and Stroke Excellence
Covers a diverse patient population including adult medical/surgical, cardiac, orthopedic, and possibly pediatric cases
Typical caseload is 14-16 patients per day, varying by unit
Epic EMR experience required for daily documentation and communication
Possible floating to any unit as needed
8-hour day shifts from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday through Friday
No call or weekend rotation required
Travelers are expected to work all holidays unless approved off in contract
Work closely with a supportive team including directors, managers, UM team, peer case managers, PAs, and social workers
Duties include assessment, care coordination, discharge planning, and complex placement, often working with homeless populations
Orientation provided for 2-5 days depending on experience and comfort level
Department culture is supportive and teamwork-oriented with strong leadership communication
Navy blue scrubs are required
Free parking is available for staff
Requests for time off require manager approval
First-time travelers are not eligible for consideration
Requirements
Active NC or compact RN license required
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
Current BLS certification required
Case Management certification is preferred
Minimum 3-5 years of case management experience required
Previous travel experience as an RN Case Manager required
Proficiency with Epic EMR required
Skilled in care management, discharge planning, and placement for SNF, IPR, LTAC, hospice, home health, and behavioral health needs
