JOB TITLE: Job Developer
FLSA: Non-Exempt
DEPARTMENT: Employment Services
REPORTS TO: Program Director
LOCATION: Bronx, NY
SALARY: $47000.00 -$54000.00/ annually
SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Job Developer establishes and maintains activities to develop, locate, and secure job opportunities for program participants.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops and maintains employer relationships in the community
Assesses participants’ skill sets and experiences in order to seek appropriate job opportunities for them
Participates in outreach and recruitment activities by coordinating and attending job fairs
Develops employer resources information and maintains a job bank
Assists participants in assessing their job skills for positions
Instruct participants in job seeking, application procedures, resume writing, interview preparation, and job retention skills
Provides job search/career information workshops and presentations to participants/residents
Arranges interviews for employment and internship opportunities
Provide mock interview sessions to better prepare job seekers for upcoming interviews for employment and or internships
Provides participants with Labor Market information
Develop program internships placement sites
Conducts job site visits after placement to ensure success by providing job analysis
Monitors participant performance on the job and counsel participants when job performance is not satisfactory
Refers qualified participants to employers and conducts necessary follow-up after participants are placed in positions
Assist in securing employment verification documentation or paystubs
Bring in employers to meet job seekers while they are participating in job readiness training workshops
Conduct job fairs with employers specific to the internships and occupational training
Conduct work site visits
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree, Associates’ Degree or High School diploma Preferred and three years’ experience in sales, job development, social service or employment and training programs working with disadvantaged adults. Must have valid NYS Driver’s License and car available for work preferred.
