Requires thorough knowledge of architectural or engineering or design to establish parameters on assigned mechanical and electrical projects for adult correctional facilities
Provides technical advice and maintains accurate files
Manages assigned mechanical and electrical projects during the construction or renovation phase including work completed by the institution or by outside contractors
Directs work activities of contractors and institutional personnel during construction phase for assigned projects
Plans, directs, coordinates, documents and manage assigned projects using State Term vendors for ODRC in accordance with statutory and departmental regulations and procedures
Coordinates with other supervisors, managers and employees at all levels to ensure commonality of purpose and direction with projects
Track status of projects
Meets with contractors, architects and officials of other government agencies, at all jurisdictional levels, to execute work programs and to ensure compliance with established procedures and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations
Communicates with contractors and design professionals to assure that payment of outstanding invoices or construction pay requests are made to their satisfaction
Advises and assists administrative personnel in development of policies, improvements and changes in procedures and other matters leading to effective operation
Serves as liaison to the Department of Administrative Service and other public offices for the ODRC institutions and Operation Support Center Maintains contact with regulatory agencies and code authorities to ensure correct interpretation and compliance with complex codes and standards Assists with civil, structural and architectural projects for adult correctional institutions
36 mos. trg. or 36 mos. exp. in interior space design & facilities planning & design; 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in public budgeting & spending.
-Or completion of undergraduate major core program in industrial, mechanical, electrical or civil engineering, or architecture, industrial design or related field; 12 mos. exp. in interior space design & facilities planning & design; 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in public budgeting & spending.
-Or 12 mos. exp. as Facilities Planner, 63281.
-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
