Job Description
American Traveler seeks a skilled RN for an outpatient Oncology clinic position requiring at least one year of oncology nursing experience and a valid NC or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
Work in an outpatient Hematology/Oncology clinic
20 exam rooms, with 12-16 patients seen daily
Patient population includes solid tumor and anemia cases, with both benign and malignant cancers treated
No weekend, holiday, or on-call requirements
Schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm
No floating required
Electronic Medical Record system is EPIC; experience is highly preferred
Uses Omnicell equipment on the infusion side
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Department support includes daily charge RN and clinical supervisor on-site
Orientation lasts 1-3 weeks depending on experience, and includes shadowing
Navy blue scrubs are required
Traveler’s permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the home unit
Free parking is available in the visitor parking deck
RTO requests require manager approval
Requirements
Active NC or compact RN license required
At least 1 year of oncology RN experience required; 2+ years preferred
Clinic experience preferred; strong acute care experience considered
Current BLS certification required
EPIC experience highly preferred
General assessment and triage skills are necessary
Skills required include port access and peripheral blood draws
OCN certification is preferred but not required
