The College of Education is seeking a Director of Certification to supervise the certification office and train and work with university supervisors. This position will play a key role in ensuring compliance with university and state certification regulations and policies and facilitating effective communication between the certification office, students, university supervisors, and EPSB.

Responsibilities

Oversee the certification of undergraduate and graduate teacher candidates.

Oversee the certification of administrative candidates.

Monitor changes in certification regulations and make changes accordingly.

Supervise data entry in the EPSB database.

Keep data in the EPSB database up to date.

Serves as liaison with University Supervisors and Option 6 teachers.

Composes correspondence to Option 6 teacher candidates concerning changes in requirements and updates on programs and policies.

Responds to inquiries regarding departmental policies and certification issues, by phone, email and in person.

Provides accurate information to students about requirements for students seeking professional certifications.

Develop and maintain comprehensive training materials and resources for university supervisors.

Hire, train, and support university supervisors to ensure effective field and clinical supervision.

Assign field and clinical staff to ensure alignment with program requirements.

Approve and monitor university supervisor travel in accordance with institutional policies.

Design, organize, and facilitate training sessions to promote consistency and quality across field and clinical experiences.

Performs other duties as assigned by the School of Education Dean or designee.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Education, Higher Education Administration, or related field.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Education, Higher Education, or related field.

Experience with state teacher licensure regulations and processes.

Proven ability to lead, train, and support field and clinical staff through ongoing coaching and professional development focused on effective instructional and supervision strategies.

Experience in a higher education setting.
