Job Title: Technical Proposal Writer Job Description We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Proposal Writer to join our small team of technical writers.
This role is ideal for recent graduates with a degree in English or a related field who are eager to apply their writing skills in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
The Proposal Writer will support the development of responses to government solicitations and assist in producing clear, compelling, and compliant proposal content.
Responsibilities * Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), managers, and directors to gather technical and personnel information.
* Draft, edit, and format proposal sections including resumes, technical narratives, and compliance matrices.
* Organize content into a coherent and dynamic response that aligns with solicitation requirements.
* Ensure adherence to proposal schedules and meet project deadlines for assigned tasks.
* Participate in proposal reviews and incorporate feedback from stakeholders.
* Maintain version control and contribute to proposal content libraries.
Essential Skills * Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
* Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail.
* Ability to quickly understand complex information and translate it into clear, reader-friendly language.
* Comfortable working independently and as part of a team under tight deadlines.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word and basic formatting tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications * Familiarity with naval ships and systems is ideal.
* Familiarity with government RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs.
* Exposure to APMP or Shipley proposal methodologies.
* Experience in a collaborative writing or editorial environment.
* No prior proposal experience required-training will be provided.
Work Environment This position is based on-site in an office setting, with working hours from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
