Leader Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Autism Support Worker to join a welcoming school in Blyth, Northumberland. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people supporting them to reach their full potential in an inclusive learning environment.
This is a full-time role, Monday-Friday 8:30am-3:30pm.
Key Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with autism and additional needs.
Assist in implementing individual education and behaviour plans.
Support students’ social, emotional and academic development.
Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and parents to ensure consistent and effective support.
Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in classroom activities.
Requirements
Previous experience working with children or young people with autism or special educational needs (SEN) is highly desirable.
A patient, empathetic and adaptable approach.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
Relevant qualifications or training in education or SEND support are an advantage but not essential.
