Title: Traffic Control Officer
Location: CMH Ground Transportation; 24/7 operation
Schedule: Part-time schedule for driver and non-driver
Compensation: $18/hour; non-tipped
The Spirit of the Position:
The Traffic Control Officer is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to guests in an attentive, friendly, and efficient manner. The Officer is also responsible for attending to customers safely and safely assisting customers in and out of their vehicles during arrival and departure.
Responsibilities:
Greets and assists the traveling public with a professional and cordial demeanor.
Direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic at the main terminal to ensure the curbside is free of unattended vehicles.
Acts as liaison between the airport, traveling public, tenants, vendors, and ground transportation companies to ensure compliance with local rules and regulations.
Assists the public with general inquiries, including parking and ground transportation options.
Resolve customer complaints following policies and procedures.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the job functions.
Ensures the terminal, curbside, and parking areas are aesthetically presentable by monitoring parking lots, setting up and/or removing signs as necessary, sweeping, and removal of trash and debris.
Maintain proper Taxi queue and inventory.
Assists customers with directions, taxis, reservations, and other inquiries
Systems and Standards:
Completes all tasks promptly as instructed by the Senior Operations Manager
Treat guests and associates with courtesy, respect, and dignity.
Follows all appearance standards as set forth by LAZ Parking
Maintains a clean, neat work environment
Safety and Risk Management:
Follows site-specific safety and security procedures
Practices preventative safety procedures as set forth by LAZ Parking, including safe lifting techniques
Reports all potential hazards and safety concerns to the Senior Operations Manager
Knowledge and Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
Ability to write simple correspondence
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests, clients, and other employees of the organization
Ability to add and subtract three-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s; ability to perform these operations using units of American money
Ability to understand 24-hour and military time systems
Physical Demands:
Willingness to work in the elements - heat, wind, snow, rain, etc.
Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 25 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, and run for extended periods.
Ability to bend, stoop, squat, and lift frequently throughout a shift.
